     This film embarks on weaving the narrative of Alan Watts life with his principal teachings. Mostly chronological in order, the story opens juxtaposing his lectures with the unfolding of his life story. The film's first act explores Alan’s up-bringing and priesthood, This includes his relationships with his parents and how they informed his experiences in school and early adulthood. Part two explores in depth his move away from the church which sees him find his most successful vocations as a writer, lecturer and advocate of Eastern thought. We will also look into what his day to day life was like at the time. Part 3 will include his last years in California and delve into his personal relationships, home life and eventual passing. In prologue, we will touch on the recent renaissance of Alan Watts, with his likeness having appeared in commercials and films and the fact that his lectures, made available for free online have been watched and had an influence on millions of people. 

     We hope to make this film come to life with interviews of people who knew and were influenced by Alan providing insight to this amazing and complex human being.
